Shopping in Bordeaux
We’ve been strolling around the old town for a couple of days marveling at the abundance of pedestrian shopping streets and the variety of specialty boutiques.
Let’s do a little window shopping!
Every street seems packed with clothing and home goods stores, but I only ever notice the food and beverage related spots.
Cheeeeeese! I love the way this giant wheel of Comté is bending ever so gently over the counter.
Macarons!
Chocolate! Wow, I’m really falling behind in my production at La Foret!
I don’t know how they sell all this chocolate given that there is a chocolate shop on every street in Bordeaux. I wonder what proportion of household income is spent on chocolate per capital in this town….
Wine! Note the amazing prices on these very drinkable bottles from local producers.
Rhum agricole! This selection at the amazing “Art et Vin” just a few steps from our Airbnb. Very dangerous!
There’s even a boutique dedicated to handmade, natural fiber (boar, horse, vegetable) brushes. We bought a brush for cleaning the flour out of our bread baneton. They have something for everyone!
